KIYAMA SHOTEN

A small sake brewery in Kiyama-machi, on the eastern edge of Saga Prefecture in Kyushu, on the border with Fukuoka Prefecture.
In the early Meiji period, several local landowners began brewing sake together, and this is how Kiyama Shoten came into being.
We have been brewing sake with the sole aim of making delicious sake, making the most of the underground water that flows from Mt. Kizan, which is part of the Saga Sefuri mountain range, and the rich natural blessings of Mt. Kizan.
The brand name “Kiho-tsuru” was named after the graceful appearance of the crane that soars majestically in the bosom of Mt. Kizan, where the national special historic site of Ki-i Castle stands.

The commitment to making luxurious junmai sake using 100% Yamadanishiki rice, which is said to be the best sake rice, has been passed down from the first generation to the present, and the spirit of the toji (master brewer) who has continued to make sake with the highest priority on quality has been passed down.
We have a strong commitment to the rice we use as a raw material, and for around 30 years we have been growing Yamadanishiki rice with local contract farmers.
Kiyama Shoten was founded in the village of Kiyama in Hizen Province during the Meiji period, and we will continue to make Kiyama sake that is loved and enjoyed by everyone, always with the heart of being together with the irreplaceable nature, history and culture of this region.
